My first Saab was/is a '71 97, I also have several 95/96s, and had a classic 900. Amazing how consistant they are from one model to the other as far as fun-to-drive, and handling. The 9-5 is a very different car from, say, my 1962 96, but yet they're still quite similar in how they drive. Without getting too silly talking about intangibles and all that, maybe it has to do with where Saab has always put the center of gravity of the car, which is right where the driver sits? Weight distribution always has been (unless this has changed recently) at 60:40 (front to back)...I wonder if this is why they feel so similar when we drive them. Stepping from my '88 900T to my '99 9-5SE required no change in how I expected the car to respond, except for a bit of horsepower changes, and a lot more creature comforts. But, they sure do feel similar when it comes to driving. Never drove a NG-900, so have nothing to base statements on for them. Dave Hinz
