With 60K intervals, there needs to be. I meet people all the time show haven't got a clue about this. It actually seems somewhat outrageous to me, that a car with 60K miles (any car) should need a $300 to $500 belt replacement at 60K miles (dealer prices). A car like the GM/Saab V6 should come with a bright yellow warning label on the dash. Unfortunately, it will take quite a few more failures like your friends before the public starts to become aware. Timing belts have been in use since the early 80's and people still don't know enough about them. Bob
