I have a Saab 9-5, the first 3 years we made mainly short trips and the rear muffler did develop a leak and by the looks of it in a similar way as yours after 3 years. Pretty poor for such an expensive and (supposed to be) quality car!!!. I tried with a number of exhaust specialist companies whether they have an imitation replacement, but as usual with Saab parts - not available. Looks like one day I will have to replace the complete exhaust system (from the catalytic convertor onwards) as it is one piece stainless steel part. Meanwhile fixed it with some cheap sheets of metal, some rivets and some "gumbo-type" of exhaust fix. gr Gert (Holland) "David Tong" <gz30nopsamternet.invalid> schreef in bericht news:ai1olf$5jb$1nopsame.btinternet.com... > Does anyone know how long the silencer on a Saab 95 silencer should last? > > Mine developed a big hole in its base after only 33,000 miles and the car is > only three and a quarter years old.
