The car has a 40 liter LPG tank in the luggage space, behind the rear = seat. There is an evaporator mounted on the inside of the left fender. = The air filter has a hole in the base where the LPG tube from the = evaporator goes through and on to a mounting on top of the carburetor = (two stage Solex, standard in '77+ models).=20 The heads have hardened steel valve seats (inserts) This is the standard = LPG conversion - cost +/- EUR 300.00 The valves also have bronze = bushings in the guides. I do not think the car has other pistons. This car has done 300000+ km without major problems. The petrol tank is = also there so I can switch from petrol to LPG while driving.=20 See picture at http://members.tripod.com/mhilvers/special.htm - the one = in the middle. ------------------------------------------- MH '72 97 '77 96 '78 95 '79 96 http://go.to/saab96 >=20 > Dave Hinz >=20
