When I said got away with it I meant not recalling to fix the problem. It seems that many people are still experiencing faults with these units and even with replacement units (according to postings on Saab related web forums). Fortunately I noticed the fault on my test drive and although the garage (not a Saab garage) were initially reluctant to agree to have it fixed, (they said they'd have a look at it) I made the sale conditional on it. Anyway, what I was getting at is it seems to be a VERY common fault and one that Saab seem to have failed to successfully have cured after what 3? years in production. I find this surprising from what I consider a prestige manufacturer with excellent designs. JM
