As in "hundreds of miles on interstate highways," not "busy city traffic." If I'm going through intersections, then I'm driving fairly slowly, and the noise level isn't high enough to need headphones. But driving for hours at highway speeds is a different story. Reducing the noise-induced stress would reduce my fatigue and make me a safer driver. If you're that worried about someone hearing sirens, then you should be certain to *remove* all radios from all cars. Or at least limit their volume to about 1/3 the normal max. I guarantee you listening to quiet music (I'm sensitive to loud noises) through noise-cancelling headphones will interfere with sounds like sirens MUCH LESS than somebody cranking tunes on their car stereo. Which a high percentage of drivers do. Gary
