I have never seen an American car with this arrangement - from the 60s to current models. All cars that I can think of have the typical motor-arm arrangement - it would be near impossible to synchronize two independent motors. > Not Saab, no, it has > one motore and a complicated series of cams, arms, and cables. Along with just about every other vehicle I can think of - can you provide an example of an American (or any) car with one motor per wiper in a two-wiper setup? > blamed the clouded, then steadilly blackening chrome window trim on the ozone > hole, Left exposed to the sun, most plastics will discolor. Though SAABs are worse than any other car that I can think of for those trim pieces. One wonders why not just go with basic black and leave the problematic chrome out. > ( less than 6 months old) they wouldn't look at the dashboard and glove > box skins that bubbled and cracked like a lepers' sores. A simple windshield shade will do wonders for saving the dash on a SAAB that is left outside all of its life. > The foam covering the front window pillars didn't reach all the way to the > headliner. But it sounds to me that your problem is more with the dealer than the car- look for a better mechanic. > true or not, I've had it, and in the last ten years American cars have come a > long way closer to the style, performance, and durability of the Saab, While SAAB has been dragged backwards by GM styling and parts decisions into being more like the rest of American cars. SAABs are certainly infamous for various odd problems, but I've never had one not get me home. I can't say that for two Pontiacs, three Fords, and a Cavalier. Though I do have to say, for the absolute cheapest and reliable ride, an 80s Corolla or Tercel are tops, far better than a SAAB, but without the driving experience and style. GTr
