If the 'door open' light is always on it may be a dirty door switch. At worse, I would expect you might have to replace the door switch. You can check this out by disconnecting the door switch. If the light on the dash goes out, try cleaning the switch with some electronics cleaner. If that doesn't help, you may need a new switch. If you have more time than money, you might be able to find the part used at a junk yard. Good Luck!
