Apparently a service tech bulletin from Saab addresses this problem and it had nothing to do with my lowering kit. It has to do with the spring seats (bushings). These need to be ground down 2mm where the coil overlaps on itself. No more squeak, groan or moan. The dealer even had gone so far as replace the front struts, sway bar bushings and lubing it until this was discovered.
