If your 240 is in reasonable shape and you have the room, I would hold on to it. I have a Saab and an older Volvo, with the Volvo being used for short trips, which are hard on an engine, and for hauling camping gear and muddy kids from soccer. This helps to keep the Saab clean and minimizes engine wear. Others should have more information, but try to find a 9-5 wagon with the sliding floor option in the car area. This makes a nice tailgate party table for picnics and it is easy to slide large objects in and out of the car.
