Subject: 2.3 or V-6 for 9-5 Wagon

I need your recommendations as to which engine you would recommend for a used 99 9-5 wagon. I have heard via this newsgroup of timing belt issues with the v-6. I am trying to get an idea what the magnitude ($$$) of this problem is, and if there are other considerations that would make the 2.3l the better choice. Unfortunately I need to compromise and get the automatic to keep the rest of my family happy so I do have some concerns that the auto and the 2.3 base engine might be a bit underpowered. One additional item that we are looking at is the traction control in the SE, which is not part of the base cars equipment....is this something an option that is really important? Thanks for your thoughts. Pat Mc
