I asked the local saab dealer and they also said it could be the heater core which is a known problem and is about a $US400 repair. The way the seller described the problem matches the saab dealer description (i.e. faulty pipe leaking into the cabin) so I will probably get the car checked by someone qualified, but even so it still has a good service history and is not highly priced. I am more concerned about the shaky steering wheel, seems a bit odd. Regards, Paul P.
