Someone who looks an awful lot like Brett <bcsalnopsamrose.com> wrote: > You cannot post pictures on regular newsgroups. Why not. Because there isn't the word "binaries" in the title of this one. Take the chip off your shoulder and read carefully; you may learn something. News servers have a certain, limited amount of room. The amount of room they have, determines how long a message can be read from that server; the old ones are deleted to make room for the new ones. Very typically, news administrators will have separate retention rules for text gropus, and binaries groups (the ones with pictures in them). It's not uncommon to find newsservers that have months of text groups online, but only days of binaries, simply due to the sheer volume of the data involved. If you post (or indeed, have posted) a binary to this group, it will quite likely displace hundreds of text messages from news servers all around the world, because you're using the system in the wrong way. Many newsservers will automatically delete/ignore binaries as they come in if it's in a non-binary group, and many ISPs forbid their customers from posting binaries inappropriately as well. > There are loads of > pictures on newsgroups. Yes, and those will all have "binaries" in their titles; that's what they're there for. > Anyway ive already posted a picture, in the post about. > Far more interesting than people wittering on about nothing! So, you're so arrogant that you are aware of, but disregard the rules anyway? Wow. > check out some of the other car newsgroups...loads of pix. > in fact there are some on the saab one! You would be well served to learn a bit about usenet standards, tolerated behaviors, and so on, before you end up in a lot of peoples' killfiles. Dave Hinz
