Agreed. The first automatic transmission in my '88 9000T lasted only 75,000 miles. The second one lasted a bit longer (I was constantly flushing it out with Mobil 1 synthetic ATF), about 130,000 miles. Average lifespan on those things is about 100,000 miles. You might want to try a tranny flush with synthetic ATF first, it might run just a little bit longer. But 140,000 miles is definitely above average...
