As the following post stated, the Classic 900 has a different engine layout and front suspension than the NG900. Handling is a very subjective topic. There are those who say only a rear wheel drive car can really handle well, often citing a BMW M3 an example. I would not disagree that the M3 handles well, but they often compare the M3 to a front wheel drive minivan, saying all front wheel drives handle poorly, just like a minivan. I could do the reverse and say how wonderful a Saab handles compared to a 1969 rear wheel drive Chrysler Newport. In truth, it depends on the driver and their skill level - you need to drive the cars differently. There are those who like the handling of the NG900s and 9-3 better than the Classic 900s and vice versa.
