Well, the bones are pretty hard; the brain gets rattled around a bit (concussion) but that takes a while to swell to the point where it's a big problem. So, yeah, they're usually talking relatively OK at that point. Lots of blood if they actually go *through* the windshield, but that's a very small percentage in my experience, mostly they just hit it with their forehead, and slide downwards. About that time, the steering wheel stops their forward progress. Saab made a film back in the 1980's, called "500 milliseconds" or something along those lines, which shows the mechanics of what's going on with the car, and the people, during a collision. Quite interesting how it all works together. I'd love to see it again; anyone know the correct title? Dave Hinz --
