It will be harder than most cars because it is not hydraulic, but it should be reasonably easy to operate. Too much difficulty, stiffness, etc, means that it needs a cable or possibly a complete clutch (complete is about $1300 USd). Look for any oil leaks under the engine or tranny and around the front of the block. It should be dry. They do not normally leak, but if they do, that's where it will be. Try to find out if the upper idler pulley & serp belt have been replaced. These are not very expensive (under $100 in parts, maybe a half hour labor) but they should be done every 45-50K miles as they are known to wear. Check for any vibration at speed or under acceleration. This is not a common problem, but if there is vibration it can be anything from bent wheels or unbalanced tires to a suspension that needs a bit of little adjustment. 58K miles is not much so you should not find any serious problems.
