Hi Geoff, Being an owner of a 1997 900S, I would tend to agree with the other comments in going for a later model (9-3). The clutch on the '97 model is mechanical and very heavy. I already had one clutch cable snap on me while on the motorway. The later models (from '98 I think) have hydraulic clutch. Otherwise have had very few problems, the car is very comfortable and solid and good in the snow and ice that we have here in Norway every winter.
