Subject: Re: Sitting Saab

I bought a 1973 Sonett in 1992 which had been sitting for 8 years. The fuel pump was bad, as was the alternator. I replaced those with used and drove it for 2 years or so until I bought a 900 Turbo and decided I didn't want to drive the Sonett anymore. Oil in cylinders, crank w/o plugs in for a a minute to bring the oil pressure up. Be sure to disable the spark system so it won't burn it out when cranking with no plugs attached. Some of the problems will depend on whether you are in a wet or dry climate, car was stored indoors or out, covered or not.... Other advice you have gotten so far looks pretty good. Charles.
