I have a classic 900 and a 245. I reserve the 245 for dry roads. Check the Volvo forum - many talk about putting sand or rocks in the trunk of the rwd models to ge through the winter. They also use snow tires and/or chains. Often the comparison is of a rear wheel drive car with snow tires and chains to a front wheel drive car with all season tires. Drive your fwd Saab with snow tires and see if you ever need a four wheel drive in the snow and ice again.
