Subject: gas cap/weak battery

same problem with my 1993 saab 9000csi, my mech said the engine light my stay on when starting and turning off the engine, if computer is satisfied (self diognostic) that what ever fault caused it to occur has corrected it self it will then not come up with the check engine light. loose gas cap or weak battery can cause it to come on, or disconnecting the battery while being serviced..
