If the 35K mile service includes the belt, and they say they did it, then they should be held liable. If the 35K mile service doesn't include the belt, and isn't supposed to, then I think it's back to "Know your machine". Does the 35K service for that car for that year include a timing belt, or not? I think the whole thing simplifies down to that question. Dave Hinz
