If you take the approach "I only drive it, I don't know or want to know how it works", you will come across similar problems all over the place, cars, computers, washing machines, etc. etc. Why do people expect to be able to use technology and become totally reliant on it for their day to day existence without learning the absolute basics about the technology? And yes, cambelts are part of the absolute basics - they are part of regular maintenance. -- Grunff
