I've seen belts fail at 4,000 miles old, so belts do fail even if the schedule's been followed. Given the age of the car, I doubt you'll have any luck. To be honest, my view is that it was your fault anyway. When I buy a car with a belt, I change the belt. End of story. I don't trust anyone else to have done it in the past. -- Grunff
