Thanks again Dave-the turbo was restricted after a few wastegate seizure
problems and as I say the engineer said it's best to considering the
age,I've had a quote to have recon turb fitted,but obviously I'd want to
know that it would cure the lack of power and this over revving thing and
perhaps the whine.I'm not over troubled by the whine,it just seems to start
as soon as you put any pressure on the gas,as opposed to a slight (granny!)
pressure,IYKWIM.
I don't/can't envisage driving any other car(Saab)-ever so maybe I should go
for the recon unit.Is this unusal for the turbo to deteriorate-if it has?
