Subject: Re: SAAB & dealers - who is responsible?

As someone who bought a new 9-3 Saab Convertible, I must say I agree with the perception that dealers seem to have some ways to go to live up to the expectations of semi-lucury buyers. Since July, it's the 3rd trip to the dealer for issues that should have been fixed the first time around. Nothing major, but squeaks here, an engine bay compartment hood that doesn't open, a stuck antenna there and such can add up to become very annoying. I had a Jaguar before, and must say their service departments is light-years ahead. All new cars have issues, the difference is in how diligently they get fixed. Considering this is a $40k car, and despite the fact I always wanted to try out the Saab experience, at this point I am somewhat regretful of having given in to the impulse of buying Saab. I can't help but feel I could get better build quality and a better service experience from a score of other brands. ...pablo
