How often do you have to replace the oil, and how much do you use? It's really not much of an extra cost compared to the cost of a rebore & decoke or new bearings! My philosophy has always been to use the very best oil I can get, and to change it more often than spec if I am doing short trips. I've had 7 or 8 Saabs over the last 35 years and have never had the head or sump off any one of them, and they all did over 100,000 miles. If the Mobil1 is the best, then I would recommend paying the premium. -- Regards, Peter Wilkins
