Subject: APC tuning on MY91 9000

Hi, i am looking at a 91 9000 2.0t tomorrow. It is supposed to have 160hp, i would like to have some more. i looked around a bit and found lots information regarding APC tuning, seems that if youre handy with a soldering iron you can increase your boost (and power) very easy. But this information is just mentioned in connection with 900s, this 9000 is going to have the same B202 engine, so it should be compatible, right? Can someone point out what the difference between the APC box, ECU and Trionic is. Or is everything part of the APC system and the APC-box those pages are talking about the ECU ? i am a little bit confused now, as ive been just droven in and driving our MY89 9000i without turbo. Please explain me, which injection/turbo system this MY91 9000 2.0t will have. What is the difference between this APC tuning and usual chip-tuning carried out expensively by Hirsch, Abbott etc. Is it that they change fuel-injection maps in the ECU what i will not do by just raising boost or are there any more differences. I thought of changing all fluids, better air filter and new wastegate and dump valve when i get the car. anything else adviseable? bye simon putz
