Subject: Worst SAAB story?

Hey all, Here's mine. 1991 SAAB Turbo Convertable. Pearl green paint... one of a kind. Had a corroded, seeping engine knockout plug. No biggie, replaced them myself on other cars. Still under warrenty, so I took it to the "Authorized Dealer" in Dayton. They fixed it and I was off and running. Now, what I didn't know but found out when I blew all the water all over the highway (this was a year or so later and the "Authorized Dealer" must have lost their dealer ship, cuz they no longer did SAABs) was that the ass at the shop replaced the knockout plug with one of those rubber plugs that you tighten down with a wrench!!! Of course I didn't even think to check the plug they put in... Engine overheated, blew the head gasket and had to have the car towed 60 miles to Cincinatti where the nearest dealer was... Get this: The rubber plug was still laying in the engine compartment. I wrenched it in, refilled with water and got the car home. Damage was done, though. -- dmk "Life. Don't talk to me about Life..."
