Thanks for advice with this, Walt. Considering the (full) service history of the car makes no mention of A/C servicing whatsoever, I suspect it's never been touched since 1996. People in the UK tend to treat A/C the same way as they treat the heater; use it until it breaks and then get it repaired, rather than perform preventative maintenance on it. Well, until they have to shell out for their first replacement compressor; they tend to take more care from then onwards :-) Thanks again, Tim. (UK 1996 900S 2.3i)
