Subject: 9-3 noises

One always has to get used to the new noises a different car makes. Nevertheless, since I have heard about the "clunking feature" in 9-3s in here, I wanted to ask which noises are inherent to the design, which ones a reason to go to the service department... I know, I know, the car is under warranty so I should go to the service and just have them listen to it, but thus far they told me it's normal: (1) Under full lock, when reversing out of a parking spot, very often I'll hear a loud clunk, once. (2) When braking hard, a similar clunk might happen. On my last service appointment, they supposedly re-torqued all the screw or whatever down there, I have still heard (1), seldom, it seems (2). (3) Under load, a slight grinding sound from the engine. It stays at the same frequency level irrespective of the engine rpm. It's particularly easy to hear -if still very moderate- when under load *uphill*. Thanks for the input...pablo
