Bought my 900 new in 1990. STILL love/drive it. Why? Quality/dependability/handling and the fact that I can find it in a parking lot! Since SAAB went with the "new" models they've targeted the mainstream and left those of use who bought Saabs for their uniqueness, in the dust. Yes, now it's money first, style maybe later. If I'm to replace it with something new, it's going to be a car that stands out as a European designed one, NOT the GM design/look that we have now. Back when I first heard that GM (of all companies) was partnering with Saab, I new then, that it was all over (though the new 93 is looking a bit better...) Look at what Ford did with Jaguars: Brought back their classic lines (that it had been getting away from) and now, they're about the most gorgeous cars on the road. The fact is, now, you can't tell a "new" Saab from any other car on the road, but you can spot a classic from a mile away. Honestly, if they changed the grill, you'd have no way to tell it's a SAAB. What will be my next car? Probably an Audi or BMW. Although the new 93 looks promissing, it's just not that much of a draw for die-hard Saabers (and the last 8 years of Saabs have IMHO looked terrible). ..course, I've still got another 100,000 to go on my classic. -- dmk "Life.
