Sounds like the DI cassette to me. Mine has exactly the same problem as yours but doesn't happen often enough to warrant replacing the DI cassette. You should be concerned about driving it while running on 3 cylinders, as unburnt fuel can go doen the exhaust and kill the catlytic converter.
