Lots of new car models have problem in their first year of production. While it's all fun and exciting to be the first one to have the new model, I prefer to hang back a year or two, to let the major bugs get worked out. Nothing Saab-specific either...it's just that Saab usually fixes the biggies after the first year, where some other manufacturers just leave those problems there for the entire production life of the vehicle (chrysler's self-destructing auto transmission, for instance).
