Subject: Towing with a SAAB 9-5?

Hello all: I have a 2000 SAAB 9-5 V6 SE wagon that I've been very happy with. Recently I've developed an interest in small powerboats and am researching various aspects of ownership including towing. My SAAB owner's manual says it can tow up to 2000 pounds which is just about what the rig I am considering would be. This makes me a little uncomfortable. Do any of you have experience towing with your SAABs? I realize no mid-size, front-wheel drive car is well suited as a tow vehicle and I will obviously consult my dealer before doing anything concrete but I thought I'd tap into your collective experience as well. My wagon has an automatic transmission and any trailer I get would have it's own brakes. I'm especially concerned about the transmission. Has anyone seen, or had experience with, add-on transmission coolers on a SAAB? Also, are there any issues with the turbo that I should be considering? Thanks in advance. - Rob Malkin
