The tread pattern of a tire is primarily for wet weather performance. On a perfectly dry surface, nothing will give you better traction than a slick, but nobody drives under those types of conditions every day. The thing about directional tires that makes it *IMPERATIVE* that they be installed in the proper direction is not only the tread pattern for wet weather conditions, but also because of the ply design. If the tire is mounted backwards, it will self-destruct in a fairly short period of time because of the excessive friction created between plies. They are designed to roll in one direction only. -- The Conquistador http://www.Footballguys.com http://www.NewsgroupFantasyLeagues.com "Nothing speaks for the arrogance of Man more than the notion he is alone in the Universe"
