Indeed, the engine in the MY2002 has the revised engine, with 125BHP over the 115BHP of the earlier units. The power increase is irrelevant really though, but the newer units have more torque as well, more refined and more responsive. You can tell which is which by the engine cover, the earlier units have a half cover, a sort of T shape, where you can see the top of the cam cover, the later units have one that covers the entire engine. Hope this helps, Rich In article <CChT9.4075$Fm.180182nopsamfep1-win.server.ntli.net>, dave gore 2002 <dave.gore2002nopsamin.net> writes >> > Dave g asked >> > >> > I have the above mentioned, a 2001 model and according to the service >book >> > the services are 9000 miles or 12 months but as mine is being serviced >now >> > and the garage have lent me a 2002 version of the same car but in the >> > service manual it says that the intervals are 12000 miles, who's right >and >> > does it apply to my 2001 car?? >> > >> > ta in advance >> > >> > Dave >> > >> Could well be that due to mechanical changes/improvements, the service >> interval is different in the new model - it's not unheard of AFAIK. >> >> Out of curiosity, how do you find the 2002 car compares to yours in terms >of >> performance, ride and handling? >> >> Sparky > >Dave got back with > >for one thing it doesn't feel like the same engine that is in mine, driving >on the same roads and pulling out of corners in the same gear there is lots >more grunt, it just feels stronger low down than ours and the wheels are >bigger too so the grip is phenomenal, even this morning on icy roads (we are >in the middle of a cold snap here in the uk) it feels more planted but the >ride is a little more harsh and bumpy, a really nice car all round, just got >to pay for mine and I'll get one myself > >Dave > > -- Richard Chew
