You did not say what country this car was made for, so I this is for US models. The Saab Factory manual says: 1. Remove the decor frame in front of the headlight. The frame has a retaining screw and connected to the grill by two pegs. My 1986 900 has a running light in the decor frame. 2. Disconnect the electrical connection from the wiring harness. (Unplug the plug from the back of the headlight. 3. Remove the rim in front of the headlight insert (four screws) and remove the insert. This insert is the metal rim that holds the headlight in place. (The screws were phillips) Installation is made in the reverse order. As for special tools, the Saabs used torx drivers, so you will need a set of these.
