1. dunno, it is a pain in the arse though 2. silly answer, but have you tried pointing the remote at the car and giving three 15 second bursts so that the alarm recognises the remote? I had to do this fairly often when I had a dodgy battery connection on my remote (says this in the manual). 3. haven't had this problem, does your remote have an LED showing that its transmitting? 4. Have had this though. Turn the key to just before the start position (so that all the electrics are lit up) and check to see if the "check engine" light comes on (don't crank, you just waste battery). If the check engine light shows, you will start first time every time. If it doesn't, just turn off and repeat until the check engine light shows and start away.
