They crank the starter too long. If your vehicle has an electronicly coded key then that has to be bypassed for the remote to work. The method that some systems use is to place one of your coded keys in the car in a way that it will be detected by the ignition system and allow the car to run. So, if you install a remote starter, you build in a defeat for this part of the system (not a great idea). Bob
