I have never experienced the affect and since I now live near Washington, DC, I use all weather tires, I would not dream of getting snow tires. However, I did so when I lived in Ottawa and Montreal bothe of which are real snow towns and never experiened any difficulty. However tires have changed since then and I do not have a fleet manager leaning over my shoiulder on the company car. However the North American practice seems to be to use snows only on the powered wheels. I would like to hear from anyone who knows differently.
