Salutations: Thanks - I was thinking about offering a bit more - say $1000cdn - but I haven't said anything to the owner yet - so I will change down to $500 range .. The interior is pretty good and the body looks well kept and I think the owner will feel a bit insulted at anything lower and thusly not be willing to pass it along to a loving if working home.. To a certain extent I almost feel the need to give it an honest home if you know what I mean.. Poor old darling just looks like it's handed an undeserved round of power train / lack of maintenance abuse.. I noticed the rotors were pretty worn too when it was up on the rack at my mechanics.. I like the 1989 2.0T CD personally - all the the power I need when I need it and otherwise a tractor - but it lacks the hatch and I miss it dearly.. My fav was my 900 with an old four speed myself.. Not the rocket ship, but man did it go on forever.. The 2.3 engine looks fresh enough so I think I could do fast transplant - keep an eye open for a tranny/diff - fix it all up and crate it for use in a couple of years when the 2.0 blows up. -- J Dexter - webmaster - http://www.dexterdyne.org/ all tunes - no cookies no subscription no weather no ads no news no phone in - RealAudio 8+ Required - all the Time Radio Free Dexterdyne Top Tune o'be-do-da-day Rocky Horror Picture Show - I'm Going Home http://www.dexterdyne.org/888/109.RAM radar wrote: > > Not certain about the details but most mechanicals should interchange > between the two cars but remember the rear seats differ between hatch and > saloon - as to value with no gearbox and a broken manifold it's not worth a > lot ( in the uk around £100 -[$150]) make the guy an offer and see > > Hope this helps and good luck > > Radar > > 93 9000cse 2.0 lpt > > "Dexter J" <lamealameadingdongnopsamlamelame.org> wrote in message > news:3E3C7935.76FB8093nopsamlamelame.org... > > Salutations: > > > > I have come across a 1992 9000T 2.3 with a brutally murdered > transmission - > > it also had the turbo header snapped off by local towing thugs..
