Steer clear of the V6. To buy it as a used car leaves too many questions unanswerable. There is no *real* problem with the 2.0 or 2.3L 4 cyl, though. If the coolant has not been changed regularly (2 yrs), you could have a head gasket or other cooling repairs, but these are less daunting and pretty standard. Once done, you are good to go another 100k or more if you perform the maintenance (coolant changes). Watch for a balky gearbox or difficult clutch engagement, though. These can also cost as the gearbox has to be dropped to fix it. If the clutch is very light and easy to engage, you are probably good, here.
