It sounds like he might have replaced the rubber shift linkage bushing with a fabricated part which may not have lasted. It's also possible that you broke some other part of the linkage which he fixed. You can have the linkage repaired again. It's possible that it just needs adjustment. There is also a kit to update the linkage with a new end that does not suffer from the problem that the rubber bushing has. However, dealers are not always excited about installing it. I think there is a TSB on that replacement. Bob
