I talked to a guy in the work who has an Escort Cosworth (I know, I know). He said that turbo cars do burn off a bit of oil trying to cool down the turbo but it depend how much wellie you give it. But raised a question. He said that the Cosworth dipstick from max to min had a difference of about 1 litre of oil. Just out of interest does anyone know what the max to min relates to in a 9-5? This would save me having to add some oil, then wait, add some oil, then wait, add some oil, then wait,..... I havent noticed any oil marks under the car but there does seem to be a small 'sweat' from the sump. What is the main root cause of blue smoke?
