I heartily agree. I spend all my Saab BBS time on these two boards now. I think one thing that helps is that each of these board has a number of moderators so no-one has total control. The moderation is very liberal and the common theme is that everyone is a Saab enthusiast. There are no commercial complications. Links to these sites, along with links to Daniel Ritter's Saabs-online.com seem to be the reason that my site (http://www.nospam) is banned from posts on Saabnet. The "Supreme Being" doesn't like "competition". We're all Saab enthusiasts, for goodness' sake! And yes, I had a post deleted recently because I gave loads of information, tried to link to http://www.saabmuseum.com for more info, then found links to that site were against the Saabnet "site mission". i.e. the "Supreme Being" didn't like that site. I deleted the link and tagged on a line saying "Oops! That link is against the site mission, sorry". The post was deleted a short time later along with all the useful information I'd included. I used to post loads of stuff on Saabnet. Sometimes I'd post a question, but having accrued quite a bit of experience on the 9000, I like to help people. However, a lot of stuff I have to say is already on my site. If I can't link to it, I really don't want to write it all again. Strangely, I've never been completely banned. I put this down to some e-mail conversations I've had with the "Supreme Being", in which I was very diplomatic (just my style, I'm afraid) and didn't give cause for any loss of temper. And all you "bannees", have you ever had an e-mail enquiry that turned sour? i.e. someone e-mails you in response to a Saabnet post (usually from an address "nopsamramail.com". After engaging you in conversation and getting you to say something the "Supreme Being" wouldn't like, he/she/it comes up with a terse, disapproving comment and indicates that they have copied the "Supreme Being" on their reply. It isn't just me it's happened to... Well, I wonder where these Saabnet fans actually come from. If there's an IP address attached to them (other than the stuff from eudoramail.com), look it up using "nslookup" or similar to find out which domain it came from. You're in for a surprise. I have no time for people like that. I occasionally post on Saabnet just to see whether I an still post. However, I can think of better ways to direct my Saab enthusiasm. If the "Supreme Being" is reading this, then that's my posting priveleges out the window. Do I care? It just irks me that there are people who are losing out. I have other places to go to find Saab expertise, but someone wants people to think that Saabnet is the only place to go. Unfortunately, Saabnet is alienating many of its more informative posters. I have spoken to a number of the most prominent posters on Saabnet. The "Supreme Being" seems to think we don't talk to each other (and I wouldn't say anything of consequence through the newly-implemented private messaging facility. How private is it?) They are fed up with his draconian form of "moderation" (censorship). Whew! Not like me to have a rant, Murphwiz, is it? ;) On Fri, 21 Feb 2003 20:00:41 +0000 (UTC), "murphwiz" <nutz76nopsamternet.comUHOH!> wrote: > >"Mark Meytin" <marknopsamin.com> wrote in message >news:3E55B0FA.7nopsamin.com... >> Can you guys expand on what you mean as "heavily sensored"?
