I agree, especially if you aim for a later >88 900i, and certain things are much easier to fix than other cars, the clutch is a doddle, tons of room in the engine bay and no fancy computers to go wrong! The only downside is the fuel economy... Old 99's though have things like block driven waterpumps and pain in the neck Girling brakes, and a tendency to crack heads...MInd you if you pick up a car cheap or free it makes sense, just dump it when it breaks. Also the bodywork will outlast practically every other car, I've never had a saab fail an MOT on rot. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
