I'm thinking about buying an '85 900 Turbo to use as a parts car. The lady who owned it ran it out of oil so the motor is shot. I offered her $200 for it and, after some time, she decided to take me up on the offer. Between the time I made the offer and today (when I checked), she had swapped the tires and rims. The previous tires were brand new and it had the aluminum alloy rims. Now, it has ugly steel rims w/ used tires that are not the right size for the car. I'll give you what I know about the car. I would appreciate any advice on how much you think I should pay for it. Motor: ran out of oil Tranny: unknown condition (And, I can't count on her to give tell me if she's been having any problems w/ it.) Miles: don't know Body: desparately needs paint, few small dings, patch of filler on hood, very minimal rust Interior: upholstery fair w/ cigarette burns; no cracks in dash Wheels/Tires: steel rims w/ bad paint; moderately used, wrong size tires Windows: all intact w/o cracks That's about all I can tell you. I'm gonna pop the hood before I hand over any cash. I want to make sure parts (A/C compressor, alternator, etc.) haven't been stripped off. One last thing, I live in Eastern New Mexico and Saabs of any flavor are very few and far between. In my town, I know of only two-- the one I drive and the one I'm looking to buy.
