Maybe I am missing something, but how would a Saab badged Subaru WRX result in a hatchback? Subaru doesn't have any hatchback models that I know of (at least, not in the US), although they do have an Impreza/WRX 5 door station wagon. Is that what you are thinking of? I agree completely with your thoughts on Saab's hatchback image. ...and a Gran Am GT isn't even available with stick shift. The non-GT Gran Am is available with stick only if you get the totally underpowered 4 cyl. engine. Now that's pathetic.
