Subject: Re: Saab 9-3 hatchback - if & when?

In article <3E71E905.391Bnopsams.com>, Kenneth S. <nimrodnopsams.com> writes > > Why on earth would Saab drop one of its distinguishing features in this >market, and become yet another entry-level luxury vehicle (and one that, >unlike its competitors in the U.S., has a four, rather than a >six-cylinder, engine)? It just makes no sense to me. BMW don't make one and sell shedloads of cars so there's no need. It's a 'sports saloon' overtly to cash in on the 3 series market. Hatchback practicality is not the new image. Ability to carry a dead elk in the back is a no-no and I suspect they want to disassociate themselves from that. (and probably from their owners who're still clinging on to their C900s) BMW owners never need to transport garden rubbish and any Saab owner worth Saabs advertising costs who does is expected to have a 4x4 in the garage for the dirty work. If you want a 'lifestyle' vehicle then Saab suggest you acquire a 9-5 estate. Chas
